Literature Text

You always complain
That life has dealt you the worst hand
That you will never be free
From all that you have to stand

To stand and say,
"I never get what is mine,"
So you drown yourself
In the rivers of Vodka and wine

Dear Father,
I just wish you could know
That there is more to life
Than just your little show

You have a nice job,
You have a decent family
Just because you had a rough childhood
Does not mean you have to still live in it.

You never showed true emotion
Until you were three sheets into the wind
Only harsh words of complaint
Never did you let go of your entitlement

Life is what you make it,
Not something to dwell upon forever
Maybe one day you'll realize
And you can move on from your endeavors

In the meantime, we'll be waiting
Waiting for you to get sober,
Waiting for you to get a better job,
Waiting, on the father that never grew up.
This is another piece written for Creative writing class, but it also went with an older piece I did ages ago. Now, I love my parents most of the time, but everyone has their flaws. The other one was written during a time my mother and I were being horrible to each other, this one is more recent with how my father has been acting the past 4 years, and then some. Fun fun.

I didn't express how well I liked this poem in class, but I really think you did a wonderful job! And an excellent "sequel" to the first.
